OpenStreetMap.org – A Year In Edits

8/01/2009

OpenStreetMap.org, a service aimed at crowdsourcing freely usable maps of the world, has been one of my favorite web services last year. Although I did not manage to create too many edits, I did do some work around the area of Savonlinna, Finland. If you’re into maps and want to participate in making the Wikipedia of maps, do register to OpenStreetMap and take part.

ItoWorld has created a nice video to cover the year in edits around the world in OSM. It’s a really nicely done video that shows the possibility of the service well.
