First snow
October 25th, 2005I haven’t blogged about this yet, but on Sunday (this pic taken just now) we had this autumns first snow here in Lappeenranta. To be honest, I’m not thrilled at all, on the contrary.
I don’t have that much against winter, but it still sucks. The days without sunlight, depressed gloomy people walking around like zombies and it doesn’t get better until january or so when the days start to get a bit longer again.
I’ll just sip my coffee and continue typing… maybe it will go away.
Feel free to read on with some related posts:

Thankfully we haven’t seen any of that white stuff “south” here yet. But it’s only a matter of time.
I agree winter sucks big time. Especially the lack of light and the suicidal-looking people. Just thinking that it’ll be this cold and dark for - or worse - for the next four months or so is depressing.
Seriously, I think the government could sponsor a one-week yearly holiday in the Mediterranean for all Finns. It could easily be a profitable thing, considering it’d most likely ease a whole bunch of health problems.
Now that’s an idea I’d support 100% any day! But 4 months with little sunlight does sort of turn the nation to a halt emotionally - you’re right about that.
