Living in 6-month cycles
December 18th, 2003Living in 6-month cycles - that’s how I felt last night. I was hanging out, probably for the last time, with the exchange students. I realised that my life isn’t that different from their visit to Finland. They were here for 4 or so months. I have been quite mobile and not able to settle down in the last few years either.
Studying 2 years in Mikkeli, living in Spain for half a year, living at home for half a year, moving to Lappeenranta and I’ve lived here now about 4 months. I’m getting used to it, but its kind of tough on your mental health. And by the end of May next year, I’m going to have to move once again (that’s my plan, if I’m able to finish my courses here), work somewhere for 3 months and then go abroad for half a year or so. Phew, I think I might wanna settle down somewhere for a few years at least.
The most stressing thing is that its hard to make good lasting friends with anybody. My friends now mainly consist from my high school friends and people I met in Mikkeli. I don’t know, I guess I just realised the possibility of settleing down somewhere might actually be quite enjoyable.
Well, before I decide on any of that, I better get through these 2 last exams …
