Wow, Santa gave me quite a surprise this year. As I opened one of the biggest presents, I found one of these wrapped in it - a Creative MP3 player. 20 gig hard drive and 14 hrs of play to be expected… sweet. :)
I have a few more days to chill before I have to start doing something productive - can’t get too comfy when you’re strapped for cash and living the student life.
Enjoy your holidays!

It got pretty chilly yesterday (tuesday). The temperature is bound to be going nuts this week, as it was cold for these first 2 days and then it is supposed to get warmer again (around +2 degrees).

Merry christmas to all! Ever wondered of the legend of father christmas and how it relates to Finland? Maybe this will shed some light to all this.
Find out more from here.

The photos will start rolling online soon. I put up my gallery on Cenes. It was the most easiest to do :) It will be only a test album and I’m looking into the different sizes of photos that would be the best match with the layout etc etc.
Anyways, the exams are over and I think I did ok, considering I took time to do other things as well (hint: you’re looking at the result right now). I got my next 3 weeks pretty well booked ahead, so let’s see what I actually get done at the end.
But last, but not least - a big hand to Lisa, who was kind enough to help me out with the photo gallery blog. This is the best tool I’ve ever had and I think I will stick to this (I know I’ve said that many times, but I think I mean it this time:) )

As a very very amateur photographer - I found these images extremely powerful. Photo Gallery of James Nachtwey. (via Jose Luis visual journal)

I’m kind of tired of this week already. Maybe just tired of school. Its annoying to hear people get excited and talk about their plans for the christmas (no this is not the annoying part), and then realising you’re still stuck here.
Anyways, I got one more exam tomorrow at 9 am and after that I’m heading to the haven of high culture and my home town - Savonlinna. :) I will be posting probably more seldom here, but do not worry! I am hoping to get my photos up and running over the holidays with a little help.
Back to the books again… hmph.
(I also added some old entries to the archives, so if you are wondering why the recent entries are looking weird - well, its the older stuff that’s now available.)

Living in 6-month cycles - that’s how I felt last night. I was hanging out, probably for the last time, with the exchange students. I realised that my life isn’t that different from their visit to Finland. They were here for 4 or so months. I have been quite mobile and not able to settle down in the last few years either.
Studying 2 years in Mikkeli, living in Spain for half a year, living at home for half a year, moving to Lappeenranta and I’ve lived here now about 4 months. I’m getting used to it, but its kind of tough on your mental health. And by the end of May next year, I’m going to have to move once again (that’s my plan, if I’m able to finish my courses here), work somewhere for 3 months and then go abroad for half a year or so. Phew, I think I might wanna settle down somewhere for a few years at least.
The most stressing thing is that its hard to make good lasting friends with anybody. My friends now mainly consist from my high school friends and people I met in Mikkeli. I don’t know, I guess I just realised the possibility of settleing down somewhere might actually be quite enjoyable.
Well, before I decide on any of that, I better get through these 2 last exams …

Well, it looks like we’re gonna get a white christmas after all. I snapped this photo from my window, so it’s not the greatest. I find it very hard to take photographs during the winter as the amount of light that is available is low and also my camera isn’t that great to handle small amounts of light.
Anyways - I’ve been avoinding the books and notes long enough. It’s just that I don’t see the importance of these courses we have - even though they are marketing courses. They are both pretty general in their context and they don’t really specialise in that many issues - which I think sucks. I would rather have quite precise courses where you actually end up learning something that you didn’t even have any idea of .. or is this just the way business is supposed to be studied?!

I did a tiny update here and there. I still have quite a lot of work to do, but I’m in the middle of the exam week at the moment (as you can see by the amount of work I’ve done on this website) and therefore I’m not quite sure when I’ll have the photos up and running again.
Also on my mind is putting up the old archives and linking them a few pages. I love the way I can configure movabletype, if you’re thinking of doing a website with a blog-style thingie on it, look into it!
