Its the end of November, yet doesn’t feel like christmas is only a month away…I guess it’s the lack of snow or something, or then the student life doesn’t allow the mentality to change to enjoy the await of christmas.
In the news: Nokia makes mobile phones that cost them 4,5‘¯?!!! The key to this is the value chain. Each phone has some 300-350 components and that adds up to 60 billion in one year. Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, CFO, said that 10 days in storage means 1 % in profit margins – talk about efficiency. To Finnish speakers, here’s the link to the article.
It now seems that the Finnish govt finally has decided to put a limit to the life-long right to study. I have to say, but I agree with this – people lagging back in unis aren’t really doing any good to anybody :) sorry to say this, but I’m more forward driven in this sense. The apparent limit is set to 7 years!!!! and only today I heard student SYL (Finnish baccalaurete union-or something like that) complain that it is against the liberal way of life in Finland. I just have to say – c’mon guys, start thinking, don’t oppose everything the government proposes towards university life.
Well, I think I’ll go and set my 4,5 euro mobile to wake me up @ 7.00.
Good night!
