Being a student
August 29th, 2003It definitely feels funny being a student again, although I have noticed some healthy signs in returning to university. I’ve already got the feeling that let’s get over with this as effectively as possible and enter the working life with new ammo. My major Intl. Marketing is probably the best possible major I could have chosen, because it has a lot to do with the softer values in business - social skills, creativity and definitely a good skill/gift of vision. I have stepped a few steps away from the hardcore of business - accounting, finance and so on, not to get my self tangled up in those, even though my minors are finance and leadership and organisations.
In the first 3 days of “school” that I was in Lappeenranta, I already began visioning what I would do after uni. Traveling and living overseas is definitely a very big part of that - there are only different ways of coming about this.
Even though all this sounds very nice, I still have some 80 credit units to cover, if my transfer credits are accepted as I have planned. 50-60 credit units a year sounds pretty tough, but I’m determined to do it as I wanna continue with my 2nd exchange period overseas next autumn. The world’s full of opportunities and that’s the way I like it - I feel alive again.
